 Over here the same thing happened.. They send out social workers but sometimes
 they get attacked. The solution? Give the social workers guns, of course :). So
 now the DES office here has a nice big armory stocked for ... people trained on
 other matters.

IIRC, they decided against arming the social workers here for that
reason... they were not trained and maybe didn't want to be.
