I can remember the days when some BBS software on what are now "retro"
systems defaulted to ~40 chars/line.  I am not sure what it would look like
if it got quoted a bunch of times in a reply thread, but the original and
"first quoting" didn't break anything here.

Getting old sucks and sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
