When I rode them as a kid, the run between Louisville and Owensboro only
had two stops at actual stations, and that was at those two cities.  The
other stops were at cafes or stores, and other hole in the wall places.

Actually, I take that back... I don't remember what the stop at Ft. Knox
was like.  It might have also been a station of some sort, but not the
"civilian" type one you'd see in the two cities.
