Speaking of which, my wife and I visited Europe in October (Paris, Edinburgh, and London); we visited Paris first and then flew to Edinburgh, and I was pleasantly surprised that going through the airport in Edinburgh was super easy. They have automated passport scanners there, so you just get in line, scan your passport, and you're on your way (assuming everything is all good; there's a turnstile that opens up once your passport is scanned successfully).
