THanks for the OpenWRT shout out!
There are 17 avm/fritzbox routers on the openWRT table of hardware. 
The 7590 and 7590ax are not yet officially supported. 
I keep an eye on openWRT. Maybe my router model becomes supported anytime soon.
Well, the data transfer/backup strategy of Fritzbox routers is really something that could need some improvement. Switching from one model to another, even if they are as close as 7590 <> 7590ax can get you in serious trouble.
