MR>i used to have a bunch of epson fx-880 dot matrix printers. >this guy in a computer shop told me to never get rid of them when i >told him i had a bunch. I've had 3 of those over the years before the Laser. They were pretty good except that they use a ribbon which can dry out with age and may not freeze well. I didn't mention the other day that I also used to leave my Laser printer over the winter in an unheated place while I wintered elsewhere, and it was never affected by cold which I probably couldn't have said for an ink jet printer. MR>one time my 'monitor' (i call them displays) blew and i was able to redirect >the output to my printer so i could see what directries i was in and what i >was doing. that was only dos though. i can't belive i even did that. That's quite something.. I wouldn't have thought of something like that but, as you say, that's not something you could do on anything but a text based OS. It might be possible to do graphics but it would be horribly slow, eat a lot of ink, and only work on static screens.. --- SLMR Rob The men who make history have no time to write about it Synchronet CAPCITY2 * Capitol City Online ----------------------------------------------------------- [Voltar]
