I was just having problems getting one game in particular to work - Esterian Conquest and wanted to try Win32, and asked a few people how to do it. I did end up getting it to work under Ubuntu/dosemu2 with i think the same drop in bundle that you mentioned. Its all working well now under linux, but just for my own education, i posted about how to do it under win32.
