I don't know how many of you have been following the primary season here in
the states but, last night, a combination of foreign and PAC money, and at
least one case of political interference by a federal employee, bought a
congressional district in my home state.

The MAGA challenger was at one point at least 10 points behind. Over the
past couple of months, at the urging of Trump, a record amount of money was
spent on the primary congressional election by foreign (Israeli) interest
and other PACs. Gallrein went from not having a chance to winning an election
that wasn't even as close as expected.

Massie, the incumbent, was on board with releasing the Epstein Files, not
so on board with the war in the Middle East, and most recently was working
on a bill forcing AIPAC -- a powerful US-Israeli alliance PAC that donates to
US political causes -- to register as a foreign agent.

That last bit is interesting as it is a position similar to what at least
two Democrats running this year in Kentucky championed. I don't know yet
how they faired yesterday.

All of these things put him on the Trump target board. AIPAC was one of the
first organizations to publicly congratulate Gallrein last night.

The conspiracy here would be that last night pretty much proved that
foreign interests can buy US elections. It would also be that federal
government employees/appointees, like Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, can now
openly violate the Hatch Act by campaigning for/against a political candidate.

Since it is my state, but isn't my district, I otherwise wouldn't care as
much but this was a pretty blatant demonstration of things that shouldn't
be allowed to happen (and some that are already illegal) during US
elections.
