      Title: Orange Scented Almond Biscotti
 Categories: Biscotti, Cookies
      Yield: 16 Biscotti
 
    2/3 c  Natural sugar
    1/3 c  Vegan butter; softened
    1/4 c  Almond butter
    1/4 c  Almond milk
      1 ts Vanilla extract
      2 c  All-purpose flour
      2 ts Baking powder
    1/3 c  Slivered almonds
  1 1/2 ts Orange zest; grated
 
  In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar into the butter & almond butter
  until well blended. Blend in the almond milk and vanilla. Mix in the
  flour and baking powder, then stir in the almonds and orange zest.
  Chill the douh for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350?F. Lightly
  oil a baking sheet.
  
  Shape the dough into a slab about 1" high and place it on the prepared
  baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
  
  Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick
  inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and
  reduce the temperature to 300?F. Cool for 10 minutes, then cut into
  1/2"-thick slices.
  
  Place the sliced biscotti on their sides on the same baking sheet and
  bake until crisp & dry, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely before
  storing in an airtight container, where they will keep for up to 2
  weeks.
