I've suggested that before.  You put your ballot into the tabulator.  Out comes
a "receipt" (just like at pretty much every store) that you can check to see if
the tabulator read your ballot correctly.  If there's an error, they can
"spoil" your ballot immediately and you can re-vote.

But that doesn't fix the problem of the machine quietly saying "You voted for
Trump, but putting your vote into the Unaccountable candidate."

No machines.
Hand filled, hand counted ballots only.
Extremely limited absentee voting.
No ballots counted after Election Day.
Chain of custody for everything.

In other words, follow the laws that are currently on the books.  Here in
Michigan, our treasonist SoS just made up her own rules (in violation of the
law - only Congress can change the voting rules) and ignored any law that she
didn't like.
