GBG The Old Testament starts from the beginning of time and covers thousands and thousands of years of the Jewish people... This is THICK The New Testament covers Jesus time on earth, 33 years. As a result the book is thinner... You can make the font small and that book might fit in your pocket. Christian Bibles usually contain both, Like the King James version, you can have a new testament, a small book, and if you have a stand alone old testament... That is actually the Jewish "Bible"... they don't call it that. Christians use BOTH because there is context and prophecy in the old testament about Jesus, and more, but this is the main reason. The Catholic Church has a user friendly book called The Sunday Missal, Missal is the important word... If you open your Missal up on the corresponding day that you are in church it will give you a play by play for that day, readings and whatnot. The Missal is really nothing more than the New Testament broken down in ~1/3 or so... If you went to Church for 3 years you would have read the New Testament completely. If you go to a Catholic Church ask for a Missal and ask someone for help, 2 minutes later you'll be good to go. Lets get back to politics before we trigger some liberals again!!!
