Same with the epyc here except it isn't nearly as old as your mac.  dmidecode reports, "Release Date: 06/30/2020" for the motherboard's bios so it can't be much older than that ... as far as I know that is.  Just guessing ... again.

It would be expensive these days despite the age.  Back when I bought it ram was MUCH cheaper.  If I recall it came in around 500CA for 2 64G ddr4 ecc.  The last time I checked it is now over 1000CA for the exact same ram.  Given my 2G per penguin rule of thumb I'd need to pump the ram up to 32G before even allowing it to be plugged in.  ;-)
